WE ALL DIE TWICE, THE FIRST TIME IS WHEN WE SIMPLY CEASE TO BE; THE SECOND WHEN WE ARE FORGOTTEN - AMELIA EDWARDS
Joyce Finley "Hiya" was one of the most caring, most resilient, and most inspiring people you could ever imagine. A lifelong entrepreneur, she raised her family in McCall, Idaho building a reputation for quality work at modest prices. In 2015 she moved to Lewiston to "retire" and become a live-in caregiver for her grandchildren, building an inseparable relationship and earning her now pervasive "Hiya" name.
Hiya loved books, loved reading, and loved kids. She firmly believed that the most important thing we could do in our lives was to teach and took every opportunity to encourage those around her to learn and to become a better person through it. She donated her time, her spirit, and her expertise to anyone who needed it.
Hiya left us in 2026 after a courageous 6 year battle with colon cancer and while her fight ended in her death, anyone who had the privilege of getting to know her along the way can attest to the fact that she put up one hell of a fight!
Please help us continue her passion for learning by helping those who teach and together we can make sure that Hiya is never forgotten.
